Pink by Lili Wilkinson

Ava is a 16 year-old girl who changes to a different school and uses the change as an opportunity to change things about her life. In many ways it is a typical coming-of-age story, but it adds an interesting twist. Some of the characters are cliched but the writing is compelling and makes you want to stay til the end.
