The Blue Afternoon by William Boyd

This is a very well written book, the second Boyd book I’ve decided to read. Both books required a dictionary at the ready because Boyd has a vocabulary like no other author I’ve read. That and the interesting plot of love and mystery made this a very good novel. I became as interested in the unfamiliar words he managed to drop into every other paragraph as the story. I found that each word uniquely described exactly what he wanted to say.
