This is the first novel by Elmore Leonard that I have read. He writes in an interesting fashion in that he describes almost nothing. Most of his scenes are based off a sentence or two while the dialog and inner musings of his characters move the story along. It's sort of ironic that the novel is about Hollywood, because it reads sort of like a movie script. I don't know if this was an intentional device by Leonard, or that is just how he writes, but it was a good novel, though I liked the movie better...
