How I wish I’d known of this book as a child! I’d probably have cited it as an absolute favorite long after, for the love of tiny earth creatures (grown super-sized) and James getting to repeatedly demonstrate heroism! I doubt a child even notices the education (centipedes have 42 feet, not 100!) sprinkled within descriptions that fill the imagination with tantalizingly scrumptious tastes and magical images.
