Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper
Having a niece who has cerebral palsy, I truly could relate to a book with a main character with similar conditions. Draper weaves together a great depiction of the struggles that a young girl with CP deals with in her daily life at home and at school with a glimmer of hope that things will get better in the future. There were a few conflicts and story elements that felt a little forced and unrealistic, but overall - the book was a great read and opens eyes to how people commonly perceive and underestimate those afflicted with a disability.
