Otherkin by Nina Berry

In a fit of anger, Dez transforms into a tiger and discovers that she is a shifter, or Otherkin. This sets off a chain of events where she begins to learn about her birth family and meets other teens that change into birds, bears, rats and wolves. Of course, no teen novel is complete without a love story. Caleb, a handsome young man, helps Dez escape several dangerous situations and they end up falling in love. Together, this group of teenagers set out to stop the Tribubal from killing off all of the Otherkin in the world. This story is filled with action from the get-go with a little romance thrown in. If you like Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver and the Twilight series you will definitely like this one. I recommend it.
