The Spectacular Now by Tim Tharp

I picked this book up after watching the film adaptation at the LA Film Festival which I was highly impressed with. The book is also just as well done. The narrative voice is very humorous and fun but the story is also laced with more serious issues that make this a well-rounded and engrossing read.
