The Art Forger by Barbara A. Shapiro
This book is a fictional story using the real-life infamous 1990 Gardner Museum heist as its backbone. It is about a young artist who is brought one of the Gardner's stolen Degas pieces to reproduce and then sell in the art world's black market in order to return the real piece to the museum. The book reveals plot twists slowly and is a quick and entertaining read.
