Minding Frankie by Maeve Binchy
Heartfelt, family drama is not my usual choice, but my mother practically forced me to read this novel. While Binchy does a good job of bringing to life the small Dublin neighborhood of St. Jarlath's Crescent, the novel felt formulaic, and not in a good way. If you want the comfort of knowing how a book will end from the beginning, you might want to give this a try.
