Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose
This doorstop of a book is thrilling in its details- at times you really do feel as though you're seeing the unexplored (by whites) American West for the very first time alongside Lewis and Clark. Overall, though, this book read like a textbook. A chore to get through, and only an occasional pleasure.
